Why use a pest technician?

A licensed pest technician is trained in a lot more than just applying chemicals. To be licensed, they must pass a CERT IV course including detailed modules in pest identification, breeding habits and biology. Their qualifications provide the knowledge and ability to use a range of proven methods to stop pest activity and reduce the potential of future infestations.

If a chemical treatment is required, a licenced pest technician will use only the minimum amount required to do the job, in the areas where it will be most effective. The treatments are designed to have an immediate impact as well as provide ongoing protection. Any chemical treatment has to be approved and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and applied only at the rates and strengths stipulated on the approved label.

Based on their experience and knowledge, a licenced pest technician will recommend what you should do to avoid or minimise further problems, such as blocking off access points or controlling moisture levels.

What pests do you manage?
We take care of any unwanted pests including but not limited to: spiders, ants, cockroaches, mice, rats, possums, fleas, wasps, birds and termites.

Are my children and pets safe around pest management treatments?
Yes, your babies, fur babies and other pets are safe. We only use the safest, latest, and fully tested products available. The treatments are also approved for use in hospitals, schools, child care centres, food manufacturing and many other sensitive situations. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available on request.

There is a window during a household treatment where everyone including pets are required to be off the property for 3-4 hours.

How often should I get a preventative treatment done?
Why wait until there is a problem, it is recommended you have your property treated for crawling insects annually and for rodents every three to twelve months to minimise pest infestations from developing. Depending on the type of pest and environment, more regular treatments may be required.

Our work comes with a three month warranty (Terms and Conditions apply), and you are welcome to have us back when the seasons change, or we will automatically follow up after 12 months so you can be confident knowing you are protected all year round.

Besides homes, what other properties do you treat?

We service Households, Commercial and Industrial properties.

These include but not limited to: single/double storey dwelling, units, town houses, rental properties, investment properties, schools, childcare centres, office buildings, retail shops, restaurants, cafes, apartment buildings, self-storage facilities, aged care facilities, community centres, animal care facilities, supermarkets, sporting facilities, stables, barns, warehouses and factories

Do regular treatments keep my business compliant?

This depends on what business you are in. Some industries, such as food businesses, are required to have regular pest control treatments, with receipts kept for auditing. You can find more information through the Victorian health services & business food safety (add hyperlink https://www2.health.vic.gov.au/public-health/food-safety).

Regardless of what type of business you run, regular pest control is recommended to ensure the personal safety of you, your staff and customers, and the financial safety of your business.

I have just had a household treatment, why am I still seeing pests?

It’s not unusual for pests to move about after a treatment. Our treatments will see a strong reduction in the level of pests although total elimination may take several weeks.

The repellent used for spraying will flush out the pests from cracks and crevices. This means you will possibly see pests for a few weeks after treatment.

After time, you may see a couple of pest creep back inside; however, they will soon die as they cross over the chemical that we have put down. This is why it is crucial to use the right type of product that leaves a long residual for long term protection.

Are ants always eliminated with a household treatment?

Yes…. and no. Ants that cross the barrier will be but a large infestation of ants may require a non-repellent chemical treatment. This treatment allows a slow release to enable transfer to other ants and eliminate the colony. We can advise the best course of action once we determine the extent of the infestation.

Do we have to leave the property for a household treatment?

Yes, you, your family and all of your pets need to vacate the property for 3 – 4 hours.

Where do your treat during a household treatment?

A full household treatment includes an internal and external spray of your property. Additional areas can be treated if discussed prior.

What happens if it rains on the day of the treatment? Will it still work?

We will make a decision on the day as to whether we can effectively treat or not due to rain. We would rather postpone the job and complete it on a fine day than risk not doing a satisfactory pest management job because the chemicals get washed away. Whatever happens, it will be a decision that we decide on together.

Should I clean my windows and carpets before or after a household spray?

Windows and carpets should not be cleaned for two weeks after the treatment.

I have found a wasp nest. What should I do?

Wasps are considered a pest as they present a significant nuisance, endanger human health, and can cause major financial loss.

European Wasps are more aggressive than bees and will attack when their nests are disturbed. Unlike bees, wasps can sting more than once, and do not die after stinging. If you discover a nest that is well established and causing significant nuisance or financial loss to your home or business, we recommend you call us immediately. Removing a wasp nest can be dangerous, and should only be attempted by a trained technician. Most wasp species are not pollinators (unlike bees) therefore chemical extermination is a safe and viable option.

I have found a bees’ nest. What should I do?

Bees are a very important part of the pollination process, so please contact a beekeeper first. Once it is determined that pest control services are required, please contact us for further advice.
